Win-911 Evaluation & Configuration

Install Win911 on your SCADA or SCADA server with a TAPI or GSM modem installed as required. Configure the global definitions (not all needed), set configuration definitions, save and launch the “Scan and Alarm” service to start receiving remote alarms and notifications.

GlobalDefinitions

1) This button is used to select all global sounds. The "Is" and "Was" sounds are used on most alarm announcements. The other sounds are used for verbal phone dial-ups and for the verbalization of analog values.
2) This option allows the developer to customize the attributes and the contents of the alarm monitor window.
3) Alarm printing is sent to the dedicated printer as normal text via LPT1, LPT2 or LPT3
4) The pager modem can be set to use None, COM1, COM2, COM3, up to COM256 for sending paging information use the TAP protocol.
5) This button defines the parameters associated with voice telephony. From this dialog you can define the type of telephony (TAPI or Dialogic), the timing parameters such as number of rings before answering an inbound call, and volume.
6) Configure the necessary port for WIN-911 to communicate with the installed GSM modem. Example modem initialisation for MTN, note message centre number e0;+CMGS=?;+CMGR=?;+CMGD=1,4;+CMGF=1;+CSCA="+27831000002"
7) The SMTP Account page sets up the e-mail account from which the alarm messages originate. This requires an e-mail account with an SMTP server and Internet connection.
8) Daily Text file option will archive alarm activity in a 24 hour based "*.TXT" file.
9) The "System Health" feature is a data value from WIN-911 to a user specified data source address. If an SCADA package can be configured to flag a data point that does not change within a specified time, then the package can detect the loss of the WIN-911 system.
10) The Connection Settings tab consists of connection settings for both your primary and secondary remote machines, as well as your local machine. Communication timing is also set-up here.
11) These selections will allow the user to customize and tune WIN-911 to meet various application or performance needs. Upon selecting "Options", you may make modifications to data initialization, select non-default paths, and adjust Pager and Watchdog Timing adjustments. Global Direct Connect options are set here as well.

 

ConfigurationDefinitions

1) Define the schedules for a users notification options, for example email during business hours and SMS after hours or any other combination. This can also be used to determine when a standby phone is active or when a alternative phone is active.
2) Phone book entries and Connection Definitions (SMS, Phone, etc..) for each phone book entry.
3) Data source definition (OPC, InTouch, ArchestrA, FactoryTalk Alarms & Events, iFix, RSView SE, RSView32, DDE)
4) This button is used to build "Groups". Groups are used to associate information with people. Each data tag (alarm or information) is assigned to one group (and one group only). A Group can have any number of data tags assigned to it. Each group has its own Contact List that assigns people from the phone book and the order they are to be contacted in. With this functionality you can organize your remote alarm notification tasking in a compartmental fashion with different people (or teams) assigned to different alarms (or alarm areas).
5) This button is used to define all filter points. Filter tags consist of both digital and analog points. Filter tags are different from statically configured Digital, Analog and Watchdog tags in that no import is necessary. Filter tags subscribe to alarms on the fly depending on the criteria configured. Criteria is configured at both the data source level (Global Options) and tag level (Filter Definition).

9) Before data values can be requested from Win-911, a 411 report must be built. Click the 411 icon to edit 411 reports.
